Wiki is about sharing, putting more information together.

It is abit like snow ball. The more the ball roll, the bigger it gets.

Wiki is a very useful thing for people who have no idea about what they looking at.

Youtube.

No introduction is needed for this.

Youtube, a place for videos.

Any video content is available.

From serious informations about 9/11 to R21 adult content.

What you want to watch, you will get it there.

Basically, you put your video onto web that links you to a laptop in India and then magic

happens, and your video is available to all the people around the world.

Simple as ABC.

The reason why Youtube is so in is because it is on the Internet. And since everyone has got a Internet, they can watch the video they like anytime.

Infact, Youtube is so successful that, there are even rival websites that serve the same purpose,but for the porn industries.

I will simplify and cut short the important points.

Basically evaluating a web site is about accuracy, currency, authority, coverage, propose,

presentation and arrangement.

Accuracy = factual accuracy, research basis

Currency = Constantly updated, up to date informations

Authority = clarification of the author, where the info come from

Coverage = Subject areas, types of materials, comprehensiveness

Propose = Aims and objectives, Intended coverage, Intended audience

Presentation and arrangement = Aesthetics, Logically arranged and categorized

And some common sense.

Anyway. My dream holiday will be the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

Well, there are many countries and continents on the earth for you to have your holidays.

But why Britain?

First of all you cannot go to Germany, because Germans are very anal. Just look at their cars, every single bits found on a car design by German auto company are build to percussion. And most of all, they are all Nazis.

Then you cannot go to French, because French people are very romantic. Which is a good thing. But the next moment, you will find yourselves cheating on your partner with some passionate romantic French stranger. Which is a terrible thing to do.

Next, you cannot go to Itaily, because most itailans are mafia.

That is pretty much about europe.

America is all about terriost, bush and Obama. So there is nothing much.

Asia = Singapore.

UK is the orgin of Mods. The coolest subculture in the world.

And let's not forget England is the birthplace of industrial revolution.

Meta search engines: Metacrawler

Metacrawler or meta search engines are search engines that search the all the search engines.

Sounds very nerd.

In simple term, it is the same as google. Just that instead of searching its own resource database, meta search engines search all the search engines.

It is like searching from google, just that the results is a combined result that come from yahoo, google, live and all the other search engines that exist.

Next up,

Subject Directories: Google Directory

Google Directory is about what you know about getting to your search topic roots.

Which means you need to know what you are searching and be sure of your topic.

When you compare the search results, google directory is more direct, gets to your search more accurately. While meta search engine gives you more results.

Google VS Google Scholar again.

This time much more in depth. Used tables to compare the search results.

Basically,

Google = I don't know much about my search topic, please give me more alternatives.

Google Scholar = I am a nerd, i know what i am searching, just give me what i want.

Translation

Google is for the average joe, because most of the time the average joe doesn't have any background on the topic he is searching on. Therefore he use Google to find out more about the background information.

After many searches and read ups, the average joe gained some information, then he go to Google Scholar and be a nerd, searching by authors or articals, that will gave him more information in terms of articles.

Cool.

As far as i can see, going green isn't going to save the earth.

Well, i will save and put my findings up in the next few days.

i used to say that people who blogs (males) are either gays or sissies or

Discuss the role of design in the global go-green movements

as we all know that our earth is getting warmer by the seconds, trees are dying, polar bears are drowning and if we don't go green, our children will not be able to see what a polar bear will look like.

many environmentalist are so concerned by the outcome of global warming, that they sell all their cars away and bought hybrid or electric cars.

Great!

But i am sorry, they are just being hypocritical

First of all they are not saving the earth.

Second they are killing the earth even more.

hybrid cars have 2 engines, 1 petrol 1 electric. the petrol engine is used to charge to electric engines. so it is the same as running petrol and not green at all.

this is the Toyota Prius, it is made from a billion components, many of which is are made for toxic materials, such as the batteries which requires mining and LCD screen inside is made for toxic fluids. Moreover, all this parts have to be shipped or aired to a factory where the car is put together.

So how green is this car?

You Decide.

What about electric car?

they are worse!

they can only travel a limited distance before the run out of juice, they are charged for a power stations, thus it is polluting the earth.

Would you want to drive a car that is electrical when is raining? Would you want to put your life in danger just to save the earth?

Global warming cannot be solved by design, but if scientist are willing to work with design, our world might be saved.
